I had a catastrophic failure of the #2 rod and I'm now in the market for an engine block for my 1927 Roadster. The current engine is a 1925, my hogs head had the ears cut off by a previous owner,

it is hard finding a good crack free 26-7 block, pay close attention for cracks between 2-3 in valve chamber and cracks from exhaust valve into cylinders.

Joe is spot on! We have at least (9) 26-7 blocks that are unusable without sleeving & seats & at least 3 that have no hope for repair without spending crazy money to repair.

More and more we are seeing ".. is getting hard to find". We used to hear, "just get another one, there's plenty around" I keep saying we can't just keep discarding when we don't find a buyer right away. On the other hand, I realize we can't expect others to be the keepers of our gatherings.
I have a large, very organized inventory and I am afraid of the outcome if I toast or can't command.

I have found an engine block, and can use my old hogs head, even though it has the ears cut off. I'd replace it if I found one in the Portland area for a reasonable price....
