I want to make a new top boot. I have the strap material, which is 5/8" wide as per original. I can't find the caps which are called C tips too. I used to be able to get them from Mark Cameron, but he must not have any more?

I wonder if any military reanacting sites could be of any help. Some of the old straps have similar clinched ends.
Good luck with your search.

In corset making that type of metal cap is called a boning tip.
Quarter inch and half inch metal caps are readily available - for example. Not sure about 5/8" caps.

I am hoping someone may have a jar of these clips laying around? Maybe I'll luck out?
