Just a suggestion. Since speedsters often brake the rules of authenticity it sounds like your making your own dash panel. If your exposing the Coil Box a switch on it may be the way to go. If your dash is to look like a "racer" several gauges (amp, volts, speedometer, etc) you may just get an accessory switch with ON, BAT, MAG (will you have MAG)

You might search eBay. Need to be careful though, some too pricey, pot metal handle, missing key...
Another option is an early 1926 -27 switch. These had no reinforcing indents (I have some.) See diff
The dash I have is from a 1926 Dodge.
