Thank you Frank, I already check on Ebay and didn't find anything matching my coils. If you look carefully on my picture, You will see the bottom contact is offset and not in the middle like usual. I don't need coil boxe but at least 2 coils spare.

The coils on eBay have the bottom contact off center. R V Anderson can help you if nothing else works. He rebuilt mine and had extras to sell at that time. They are not cheap. Frank

The best thing to do, if your coil box is original, is find the correct coils that were made for it originally.

You may have a difficult time finding that type of coil, due to the fact that KW never made such a coil. Some one custom made those.

From what I’m seeing, those coils look like fair reproductions of the late’12-early’13 KW coils, minus the metal tops. I bet they have ‘13-‘27 internals too and work just fine. Have you really never seen a coil like that, or just nit-picking the fact they aren’t perfect repros?

This might be a long slog to find matching coils. Hopefully you are also posting on some of the other old car forums. While I have not been around the hobby as long as some here, comparing them to original, I see some differences, like case constructions (dovetailing that would have been present in original boxes) and what looks to be screws holding the buttons on, so might be homemade one offs (ok 4 in this case). How about photos of the non contact side and other side. I am thinking ether you will have to update some originals or make your own using 1914-1927 internals.
You might ask on the regular forum, maybe someone knows if these were made for sale as replacements at some point. If you do post there, add a link to this. Even if they were made for sale, it would have been small production so would few and be far in between.
If nothing else this bumps it back to the top.

Mario

If a later model coil will fit the box and line up the front contacts, I am thinking that you may be able to get away with simply soldering a tab onto the bottom contact of a standard coil so as to reach the off-set contactor strip on the bottom of the box.

I recently had an early car in the shop with an early coil box and no coils, but could take standard coils if they were spaced apart in width. I milled up some lumber to .150" thick and placed them between the coils and everything worked fine.

You may be forced to get creative here...

Good Luck

Check with all the coil rebuilders that advertise here and in the MTFCA & MTFCI. I’m sure there should be spares around. These are somewhat rare coils to find, but also somewhat rare to sell. I bought an excellent early ‘13 kw coil box with 4 excellent coils like these and a spare at the Iola, WI swap meet in July... And I bet the vendor had taken them to multiple swap meets before he sold them. Unfortunately, I won’t sell them because they are eventually going to be used on my ‘13, but I would trade the spare coil for a decent coil box lid if you had one?

I have an early 13 that takes the larger coils. I run the later standard size coils with copper tabs soldered on the contacts so that they make contact with the coil box. I also use a 3 wood shims between the coils.

I believe that what Mario has are custom built units made to fit an original 1911-1912 Kingston coilbox but are made with adapted later style KW points. Most likely this was a one-off deal and duplicates don't exist. I could certainly build him some spares but due to the custom nature of the work involved the cost wouldn't be a whole lot less than my reproduced original style T-4232 1911 units.

I finally bought on T-bay 4 original coils 1911-1912 off set in the bottom like the actual one. I will check them about their condition and send it out to RV .
