Gene might be able to help. The mains are the same type as the 28, insert. Filling Station offers the service for reporing the mains.

If you have not see this over on HAMB, it could be a good read on hot roding a 28 Chevrolet engine. Some of the information might work on a 1926 engine too. There are I think 73 pages and I have only read part of it.
