Have a look at these, don't think I have them all but will fine tune the list as we go.

Chris, i'm in, thank you, but..
If i Google "MTFCA forum 2019" the new forum does not come up in the results, just the old forum...
Just for your information, maybe something to have a look at, maybe it solves itself if the new forum gets more hits in time
Forum is looking good by the way, fast loading, easy to use, great job !
Happy New Year !

Instead, Google

MTFCA

and go to the home page of the MTFCA and click on 2019 Forum.

When that comes up, bookmark it, and add it to your "favorites bar" and then yoou have a quick way to find it.

It will sort itself out over time as Google starts finding this page on a regular basis.

We're 'muddling through this' together, learning the nuances of the new. We shall survive! I just added a post to the "I am confused" thread in the 2018 Forum which might help with understanding differences.

(and) "Happy T-ing!"

Posted by David Dufault on the old forum, thanks Dave.

Also...
After reading a thread, if I use the BROWSER back arrow to return to the Forum, the color DOES NOT change;

However,
if I use the < Return to “2019 Forum”
at the bottom of the thread, the COLOR DOES INDEED change.

I have been searching for a "Like" button on the new forum. Has anyone found one?

One that stays at the top of the forum and doesn't scroll down as new posts are added.

Just testing my ability to reply to a post.

Great job on the new web site! Will take a little getting used to and everyone will love it!

Great job with the new forum. Seems to be clicking along fine so far. Learning new things as I go. A “Like" button would be a nice touch.

Put something like this on your desktop
thumbsup.jpg
thumbsup.jpg (9.79 KiB) Viewed 14320 times
\

then click and drag it into your post.

Be sure to look at the bottom of the screen - you are asked if you want to place it "inline".

What Mark and I are referring to is a “like” that you can add to any post that you like without having to reply to that post.

I seem to have lost the “Return to Forum” from the bottom of the thread.
C26E8760-1FA1-42F9-87A1-4572F966470F.png
.

Of course the back arrow “<“ is still there but the other button would change the color of the icons on the list.
Does anyone know what I have done wrong?

I noticed the same thing Tony. The back arrow does not refresh the read and unread posts. However, refreshing your browser does. I just click on the forum in my bookmarks (favorites) to refresh and all are updated.

Question Chris, if i return to the forum from a post through the 'return to forum' button on the bottom, it returns to the first page top, not to the page i was on, it does mark my read posts though.
If i return to the page through the back button of my browser it returns to the page i visited, but does not mark a post as read...
just a minor annoiance..

No wonder I'm having trouble with this forum! Someone just pointed out to Stan Howe, something about those two little quotation marks in the upper right hand corner of each topic box,....Heck!!! How would anybody know THAT!!! Those marks looked more like 66 to me,...and of course I had no idea what "66" meant! Didn't look like "quotation marks" to me!!! (....a quotation mark looks like THIS...."

I guess the reason I'm having trouble getting up to speed with this new forum is because this new forum has been presented to everybody like "EVERYBODY" knows all about computer stuff! Well,...some of us don't!!!

This issue is a perfect example of what I mean,.....I would not have known in a million years about the little quotation marks, that really don't look like quotation marks, unless somebody TOLD ME! And don't get me wrong,....I realize that it's nobodys fault that I can't just pick up this stuff instinctively like most people,.....sorry about the venting,.....but it "IS" frustrating,......harold (:^)

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, Harold. in 1999 I decided that my business needed a website. I started working on it the last week in August and I finally got it working on Thanksgiving day. Computer stuff comes hard for some of us prewar models. :)
