A Photo Posting Question To The Powers That Be.

So is there a reason photos posted here show up small and need to be clicked on to view full size??? Royce's Model T Ford Fix web site uses the same software platform as this site and the photos you post over there show up full size from the get go without having to click on them to view full size. Is it a Admin. function or am I missing some registered user switch I need to throw?

I would like to add a question to Jay''s inquiry.
Is there a limit of five photos per post?
In my post "Jefferson Electric Model 28 Buzz-Box Coil Tester – Death at your fingertips",
after my fifth photo it would not let me add any more photos in my initial post.

Howdy Bob, Over on the Model T Ford Fix site using the same software you can load ten photos at one time. I think it is up to the admin. how many you can load at one shot.

Why does sending a PM with photo attached require the format be changed? I can post a photo here in JPG but PM will not allow same photo.

That is strange Mark,
I cannot post a picture on either the forum or in a P.M. unless I change it from a JPEG to a GIF file!
God Bless

Interesting! Could it be where they are stored or the device used? I store mine on my desk top and only so far have had an issue with posting on PM. The photo above was pulled right from my desk top, running W10 firefox.

I am using Windows 7 on my laptop, storing pics in Windows Live Photo Gallery.

The limit of 5 photos was put there by me and I think it is sufficient, we can make it unlimited but I think we need to make posters think about do I really need another photo posted. No matter how much space we have that we pay for, at some point we will run out of space.
Having to click on photos will remain as it is, for people on a slow connection so the pages will load quicker.
The history of the forum is there is an equal number of threads to pictures, but pictures take up way more room.

Page loading speed for those with slower connections - yet another reason to break long threads into multiple pages.

The current default display of pictures appears to 400 by xxx pixels. I would like to see the default be either 800 or 1000, as viewing the site (at least in Windows) requires that you open the picture in a new tab or after clicking on the picture, or using the back arrow to return to the thread.
On threads with multiple pictures this quickly becomes annoying. The previous bulletin board software displayed the full size picture as a default which made navigation of the site much easier and more enjoyable.
While there are undoubtedly some users with slower connections, I would guess the vast majority are on some kind of high speed broadband connection.
The new BB software is an improvement in most all respects, with the exception of the default image size display.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Thanks
