Asked for a new password. Got a temporary one. Password is too long. The password runs out of space before it
it can be all typed in.

If you have a PC, highlight the long password then press Crtl and the key C at the same time (that copies) then click your cursor in the password box and press Ctrl and the key for V at the same time and that will past what you copied

Ok. I had a friend try to help me. He had two separate screens, why I do not know. One screen had my email, the other had the model t site.
We did as told, I think "copy paste" worked, but all I get is the user name or password is wrong. Can somebody help? I think outside of the computer. All the marketing crap about it being user friendly or intuitive means nothing to me. Can I start over with a new account or be lost like the rest who could not make the transition and be a lurker.

Sounds like your trying to enter the https address not a password. They would not have sent a password that was bigger then the window.

My last reply did not go through, so I try again. I am not using the http address for my password. The answer from the IT nonhuman response had a 65 character letter and number password. My friend showed me how to get two windows on one screen so I could copy paste this 65 character temp password. I was successful in getting in my account, but I cannot change my password to something more manageable. The forum will not accept the 65 character temp password it change my password. I need a human Administrator to help me now.

If you have Firefox, there is a way to see your password on bookmarked sites. Might be able to do same thing on others, but I work with what I use.
I just don't see someone getting a 65 letter/number temp password? If they did, something must be goofy somewhere. Any temp. password I have gotten has been way less. Hope he gets things sorted and back on line.

Yes it was a 65 letter number temp password. I tried to re register. It says email address already in use, so I did not cancel my account. I can forward the email from the forum to anybody who doubts me.

Most temp passwords are only good for X number of hours. Try resending your request for a temp password and see if it is as long and instead of trying to type it, left click over it to hilite the password, then right click while the curser is over it, chose copy, then in the box that ask for the new PW right click and chose paste. See if that works. I think Jeff or Chris would have to completely remove/wipe your old account so you could start over using the same E-mail, but they would be the ones to ask for sure.

Mike may never see this, but if you have never signed up before you should not need to have a password sent to you. If you are trying to retrieve an old account, you need to sigh up with the same email/handle/name that you had used in the past. If that is the case, after you renew, edit your email. Only other thing is to have Jeff or Chris completely remove your account and start fresh.

I am having the same problems Mike was having. Temp password is a mile long and I am not able to cut and paste it. Why would anyone who writes a program give you a temp password longer than about 10 characters?

I then tried to set up a new account. This system will not allow 2 people to use the same e-mail account. So I used an old e-mail account I no longer have access to just to get the new account set up. Then I get a message that my activation code will be sent to my e-mail address. Why can't they just send that code to my phone like everyone else does?

If you cannot get on to the forum there is not way to ask Jeff for help. He is not listed in the contact section.

How many other people will give up like Mike did?

I am not blaming Jeff, but this new software is certainly not user friendly. I know he works his butt off keeping this thing running.

I’m curious, if you are posting here with your name, you are logged in, Why do you need to reset your password? Or are you just trying to Change it? I can help you do do that...

I have just fixed this issue. It was an obscure setting buried deep inside. Passwords can now only be 10 characters. If you don’t know how to copy and paste, it should be less of a problem.
