This thread is a good example of both -- at least as it appears on my screen:
https://www.mtfca.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9221
The first photo is little and says, "Views x-amount times" but I can't click it to enlarge. The rest I can click to enlarge. Is that a setting on my end or something with the forum?
Why are there some photos I can click and some I cannot?

No it's not just your end. It has something to do with how and were the images were loaded from.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

That's kind of what I figured but then thought it really odd when the same poster had one of each. Maybe he used two different devices to snap the photos.

Re: Why are there some photos I can click and some I cannot?
It all depends on the source photo. If it’s been resized smaller than the “thumbnail” size before uploading, it won’t expand when clicked.

Yep, depends on the size you post.
The inevitable often happens.
