FS AUXILIARY TRANSMISSIONS

Post by Mark Chaffin » Sat Aug 01, 2020 12:39 pm

I have a few auxiliary transmissions available for purchase. All but the top left unit are of the Warford variety. I have been unable to identify the manufacturer of the top left unit as there are no markings. Price for this unit is $200. The top two Warford transmissions are cast iron and the gear appear to be in good condition. Price is $300 each plus actual shipping. The Warford transmission shown below is of the aluminum variety. The unit turns freely and the gears appear to be in good condition. Price is $400 plus shipping. I also have a couple of aluminum shifter bodies. Price is $100 plus shipping. First come first serve. Message me or call Mark Chaffin (951) 805-0928

I noticed the cast iron Warford unit shown in the top right portion of the photo has had some weld repair on the case; however, the gears look pretty good. I'm sure it will function as intended. Because of the cosmetic issue (weld repair), the asking price for this unit has been reduced to $200 plus shipping. Thank you all for the interest.

For what it is worth. I had one of the little two speed (direct and under) transmissions (not yet sold in the viewer's upper left corner) many years ago. I was told it was a "Jumbo" Junior, by the same makers of the Jumbo Giant. I later did see (but do not have a copy of) an advertisement for them which supported the "Jumbo" connection.
I never did use the thing, so don't have any personal insight on how good or bad they are.

Somebody needs to buy that last Warford needing the weld repair. I am very tempted but have no business buying something I just really do not need right now.

Mark, It's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but I think the first one is a Woodward auxillary. They are a two speed with either direct and under or direct and over...John.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the plug. To clarify, it has been repaired. The weld repair looks like it was done by someone who knew what the were doing. Aside from the repair, it should function as intended.

Hi John,

It may be a Woodward as it is similar in appearance. The gears look pretty good inside.

#1 is still available. Mark wanted an overdrive. This is an under drive (like a Ruckstell) two speed. Forward is direct 1:1 and the the rear is 1:2 ratio. Turns and shifts easily. Gears are in good condition.

I wish someone would buy number 2. It is so tempting, but I do not need it. And there are some things I DO need.
Bump.

Grr. Any idea what shipping would be? Could the grapevine get it to Erik Barrett's in Auburn? I really don't need one at this time. It IS awfully tempting? The price is right! How decent do the gears appear to be? I do have a half blown one just like it with some decent parts still.

Dog-gone, you are dang near giving it away! If you cannot get a better buyer by tomorrow? I guess I can scrape up $150, and hopefully put it to good use. Next I need to figure out how to get the money to you. Thanks to the good bank I have liked and used for thirty years being bought out? I no longer have checks I can mail. I guess a PO money order? (I really don't like them either.)

Mark,
Sorry, kind of off topic.
I received my switch plate from you last evening. It is better than you described and I am thrilled!
