WTB: 1912 all brass Victor/Corcoran carbide generator
After careful consideration and a detailed discussion with William Glass regarding my early 1913 Canadian T built in September/October of 1912, The correct carbide generator for my car should be a 1912 Victor or Corcoran All brass style. What is of the upmost importance with this generator is the THREE mounting holes which are evenly spaced with 6.0” centers. No more no less. Condition of generator would determine what I’m willing to pay. Thanking anyone who can assist me in advance. Kind regards, Darren Wallace

Forgot to mention the Victor version is almost identical and neither brand may not have any markings. Hope this helps.

There's an all brass '11 on the HCCA site.

Thanks Gene, I inquired about that one a few days ago but it’s sold.

Hi Darren
I found your notes interesting about a brass generator on the Canadian '13s. I recently picked up a basket case Canadian '13 touring and an all brass Corcoran gas generator came with it, but it is rough. It also has "Patent Applied For" on one of the clamps.
The mounting holes are evenly spaced, 3 around the base flange, but the center to center appears to be 6 3/8" inch, not 6". Are there different versions of the Corcoran gas generators?

Re: WTB: 1912 all brass Victor/Corcoran carbide generator
Hi Jeff, yes there are some variations in the hole centers so I am told and I have encountered generators like yours too. My car is essentially a 1912 chassis with a '13 body and radiator on it. It was built in Sept./Oct of 1912 and sold new in Tavistock Ontario in November of 1912. The running boards have 3 holes with 6" spacing and from what I was told by William Glass was that my car should have an all brass Victor or Corcoran generator. They are virtually identical. There was one on the HCCA website for sale by a friend of William's and he told me it's spacing was what I needed but I missed it by an hour!

This is mine. It’s in mid restoration. I’ve hunted down a basket and now only need the plate that bolts to the bottom of the top tank.

There is a Corcoran carbide generator listed on the HCCA Classifieds, The ad doesn't say what car or year it is for.
