I was there about 20 years ago while I was in Arizona on business.

What totally surprised me was the actual site of the OK Corral gunfight and how small it was and the close quarters in which the gunfight happened. Are they still giving tours of that location and re-enacting the gunfight?

 The "Gunfight at the OK Corral" wasn't in the OK Corral . . . "Gunfight in the vacant lot across from the OK Corral" was too long a title.

Lots of fun for everyone in these "re-enactments"!

As for the gunfight, facts don't square with the legend, yet it has become iconic. What was it about ? Gun control. It was illegal to "carry" within Tombstone city limits. Earp &Co. set out to disarm the McLowreys and Clantons, but they were leaving town anyway. Was Wyatt Earp a hero and a paragon of virtue ? It's closer to the truth to say he was a gambler, a shady boxing promoter, a whore-monger and an opportunist who moved around a lot and was never very successful. But that's blasphemy, and heaven knows we need heroes ! Always go with the legend, it's more fun anyhow !

I am! We leave for Vegas from Tempe AZ on next Tuesday- staying thru Sunday. If the weather is ok (not snowing or raining) I’m going driving starting Thu or Fri, and would love to join up with anyone else who wants to show us around a bit. I have a good friend who lives there who wants a ride in a T!

We’re staying at the Oasis RV park.

Jeff, Vicky's is where we meet, we can get coffee there. We leave there at 8:00 AM as a tour group will drive to Black Bear's arriving at about 8:45. Usually lots of good people. We go someplace different every week.
