I'm looking to locate a general purpose machine shop in south Florida
appreciate any suggestions / information thanks.

Try looking at Googling this and change Coral Springs to your city- machine shops near coral springs Florida

B&B Auto Machine Shop, Pompano 954 781-5403. Bill, the owner, is a great guy and has done a lot of things for me over the years. He's always very busy so if you are in a hurry he might not work for you but he is worth waiting for if you can. He knows his T's too.
