Wow! I remember when they were building that.
What fun to see the TT there.
Rich
When did I do that?

After 30+ years it was still in use, and from its appearance, was lovingly cared for. Did it survive as well in the last 70 year's?
Who knows.

According to Disney the Jungle Cruise ride had to be revamped and updated because it wasn’t politically correct. No mention of the TT truck still being used. Read their reason for “updating the ride” and you can figure out the rest.

I couldn’t find a exact date for the picture, but there are some clues in the picture. Disney Land Park opened in July 1955 but the TT truck has the yellow with black lettered California license plates used 1956 to 1962, in those days California license plates ran January 1 to December 31 of the given year. Some revisions were made to the jungle ride in the early 1960’s by adding the baby elephant pool and adding more plants. The TT has the yellow California license plate in front and is loaded with some large plants. Disney has this picture shown in a story on park plants. In the early 1980’s I was a member of the Orange County T club that had it’s meetings just around the corner from Disney Land and I am sure that I met the man on the left in the picture, at the windshield of the TT, but I don’t remember his name. Hope some current long time Orange County club members have more information. It is such a nice looking restored TT truck for the early 1960’s and there were several nice C cab TT’s in the club in the 1980’s.
