Selecting "US Only" on Ebay
I went on Ebay the other day to buy a pair of bicycling gloves. The cheapest ones, of course, were listed as coming from China.
Ebay offers the option of choosing "US only" when searching for items, so I re-did my search using that option. The price was a little higher, but I decided it was worth it to get a "US only" sourced item.
The gloves arrived today and were plainly marked "made in China", so I called Ebay to find out what the "US only" search option really does.
Turns out that selecting "US only" just restricts your search to sellers that are based in the US, not products that are made in the US.

I remember my dad telling me during WWII, the Japanese were selling products "made in USA"...
Usa Japan !! It had to be "Made in U.S.A." We were boycotting them and they snuck around it this way.
Many products today are nearly impossible to find NOT made in China. Some of the better stuff is made in Japan.

Hallmark cards, I took it for granted that they charge plenty for greeting cards. Checked the back of the card for price,
MADE IN CHINA! Really? This is rediculous, they still charge five dollars and up for a piece of paper with a greeting. Another company that I will not support.

Sounds just like the ‘50’s and ‘60’s - everybody complained and joked about everything coming from Japan. But they kept buying it.
Products were pretty much cheap junk - but they kept buying it. And now what do we have but Japanese auto manufacturers passing themselves off as American companies, and those same people don’t even think twice about sending their money overseas.
How many on here own non-US Vehicles ? - Yes I know many low profit component parts come from elsewhere, but the larger profit from the vehicle sale goes outside the US to the parent company.
It will continue as the masses will continue to purchase from China - as it is ‘cheaper’ - until they become the next US ‘toyota’.

If my short term memory gets any shorter, I won’t even have thought about what I’m going to forget.

Ya it's called global economy, we buy from them and they buy from us. All that wheat and corn got to go somewhere besides in our tanks.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

I often say I won't own an import car, even if it's made in the US.
And yeah, I know some of you are probably judging my perceived naivety, but PDGx knows what I mean.
