Post by babychadwick » Tue Apr 30, 2019 12:40 pm

Are there many going? Where are people staying? What's the low down?

Is that where most of the people are staying? Ive heard its a short run around 100 miles and finishes at lunch. Is that correct?

There are several people that have stayed there in the past.

There are several other hotels that are recommended as well:

I cannot comment on this years route as I am not involved in the planning. The last several years there has been an effort to get the run to end a little sooner. Here is the general schedule:

I have heard that the hotel prices have been jacked up due to some Golf tournament. Pebble Beach? Please anyone chime in if more info is available.

Ivan....Have you heard what the car count is at this point?

There was a write-up in the local Hollister paper about the upcoming event.

I don't believe in electronic aids, in fact the two of us completed a 7000+ road trip last year from FL to CA and back.

Have a safe run and tour. I've enjoyed this event a couple of times and it is surely one to try and attend if possible. The start of the race is most memorable!

We made it home several hours ago and immediately hit the sack, my Boy is still sleeping. Something about a red eye where the seats don't recline and the head rests don't move to give you anything to rest against is just brutal after an endurance run. The run was great although it would have been much nicer to have been given a map with the route instead of just a sheet of directions. Was anybody else's running hot after all those stoplights before the finish? Any chance of getting videos for those of use that don't use facebook?

They haven't used real maps in several years, which yes would be helpful.
I was suprised we didnt overheat with how hot it was out. Everything was fine until our Magneto quit working, then our day was done.
Glad you and your son got home safe, it was great talking to you at the run

Tim.

Chad,It sounds like the endurance part of the Endurance Run for you was the red eye flight home to the east coast. I didn't know that they stopped with the maps, so it is like a time and distance rally for every leg. I do remember one year long ago not having a map for the last few miles of the run when the map blew out of my Dad's hands and was shredded when we got back to it. Luckily no more check points until the end point that I could find OK.
