What am I missing here - Kingston Y 4-ball

After having browsed eBay and this sites classified, it turned out that I could find one to a good price just 10 miles from home. So no need to import from US, shipping and customs fees and what have you.

But taking it apart for renovation, it seems I'm missing some parts and browsing the vendors catalogs I se not many kits for restoring Kingston Y carburators. L, L2 and L4, but not Y. However, reading various forum posts maybe I can use some of the parts for these newer Kingstons?

What is missing here in the threaded hole?

Can I use a later float? I do not think this is ethanol proof

A bowl drain valve fits into the threaded hole near the gas inlet. The float pictured looks like the correct style, but check that the pivot point is in the right place. It might just be camera angle, but the bowl body looks more elongated than other Kingston 4 ball carburetors.

It’d really be a nice find if you could actually locate the drain valve as pictured in the parts photo. Lots of broken ones because people forced them to open. The handle is very petite. Most of the time the needle & seat on the 4 ball leaked like a sieve. I believe Corey Walker does a very nice job in making that problem go away.

I ordered a 1/8" petcock from Langs and received today - it's to big, so i buy that it's 1/16" pipe thread. Hm. I'll check with the local "pushers" what they have lying around...

In the mean time, you could use a 1/8" to 1/16" pipe adapter...

The float looks like one similar to a Linkert Indian/Harley Davidson float. The Float arm is similar to one used on the DX304 carb and also used on the DLTX #3 used on early John Deere model D and also used Hart-Parr tractors.

I've bought a L2 float of modern material which I believe can be adapted for use in the L4 carburator.

It turns out the 1/16" petcocks seems to be made of unobtanium, so now I have purchased a simple 1/16" NPT plug to just close the hole so I can get the carburator assembled and get the engine started again.
