Interesting that the plugs are offset- I've seen a lot of Sherman heads and I don't recall ever seeing a twin spark with the holes offset like this one.

Re: Sherman Sure Fire Twin Plug Head
Dan, I noticed the offset spark plugs also. The plugs more back from the ports are intake, could it be for a little more cooling in the head to help with the incoming mixture not to detonate ? With the pipe plug hole at the back top of the head I have seen a cooling pipe added that runs to the front cooing outlet to help promote cooling flow in the back of the engine.

Re: Sherman Sure Fire Twin Plug Head
My money would be on larger intake valves and the desire to place the plug directly over the valve.

Re: Sherman Sure Fire Twin Plug Head
Yes Chadwick you are correct, the offset would help with bigger intake valves and port work. Have a good run with your mom's speedster on Sunday.

So; how much larger can you go with intake and exhaust valves?

Re: Sherman Sure Fire Twin Plug Head
Roger you might want to move your question over to the forum. You would have a better chance of getting an answer there, more eyes.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!
