Hi all, It seems to me a shame that there are so many nice cars with for sale buyer with no buyers! The 14 touring I have for sale here and on HCCA could not be much more original and as mentioned here several times here "you couldn't paint it for that" Most younger guys are either completely anti internal combustion (ridiculous) or they want 2200 HP not 22. They don't seem to understand where there 700 HP 4 cyl foreign car they love came from nor do they care. I have been in the car hobby since I was 6 year old and I'm 62 now. I love all cars that demonstrate innovation or generate emotion (except the Prius.) I have worked on or restored everything from an 1899 Peugeot to 1970 McLaren 200 mph beast. I hope we can generate enough interest in the historical and significance of the early cars to keep people interested in driving them before our ignorant government outlaws them.

Stepping down from my soapbox,
Rick

These are just my thoughts on why T's are slow to sell... my opinion, after 50 years (Jeez, really? Got involved back in June of 1969, so... darn... wow...) in this hobby. Please don't be offended.

Most of us who were raised in the hobby are now approaching or past our 6th decade. And this may sound kind of CS, but I remember when you could get a good, running brass-era T (14-15) for under or about 5 grand, and a '12 or earlier was about 10 grand. True, that was a few years ago, but I've watched prices on T's go thru the roof, parts are almost as bad... so while I'd love to see the hobby (especially the "pre-16" era cars) continue with a younger generation, the odds of finding a car that younger generation can afford are mighty slim. Even the late T's are in the 10K plus range. And that's a lot of pecunium. The sad thing is the economy isn't helping, combine with a car that will do 35 MPH and has to be cranked...

I wish it weren't true, but it is. And while it is really pretty in red... it's not the stock paint color (or upholstery pattern), things that kick value from the car. At least someone who wants originality. That and the price are what dissuaded me.

Again, my soapbox... and my opinion. Hope someone will buy it and give it a good home...

Sign of the times. Interest in the hobby is not growing fast enough with people who have expendable funds, causing prices to drop and inventory actually to rise as the older set get out, or at least want to. And as Susanne implied..if you want to get the most $ for your car it does need to be as correct as possible. If it were black I suspect it wouldve been gone long ago and at or close to the already low asking price. Again...we're entering a phase of buyers who can only seem to connect to 50' s-'60s cars.
