I picked up this running board holder and had a canteen that fits:
Ever see one of these?
Comments welcome!

The canteen has a 1918 date on it. The holder is a bit wide and just a bit short. I am sure that I could force the canteen down.Running Board Canteen Holder

Re: Running Board Canteen Holder
Hey there Matt!
A slight tweaking of the strap iron around the canteen may buy just enough size to fit and hold the canteen just fine. I did see something similar some years back. Looks a great accessory for your T !

Neat item. Wonder what type of cap went on it. Some type of rubber or cork stopper or?

Re: Running Board Canteen Holder
At first I was thinking maybe it was to hold something besides the canteen/water. But with the ability to turn it to pour. I figured it must be for water. Evidently the strap over the top which is now rotten would hold it from turning while driving
Wayne, I could bend it. But I was kind of wondering if I could find the exact container it was made for.
John, I had a cork in it. But it got lost in the shuffle. Here’s the answer to the type of lid the canteen should have. I wouldn’t put drinking water in this one. It was soldered with likely lead based solder. Thanks!
