Finalizing: If the general consesus is that we bring our Ts, the only place where there is room enough is on the far end of the Activities Field, opposite the pavillion. Car games are played near the pavillion. 4 p.m. Saturday so we have enough time for the Gas Light Tour

Re: OCF Meet and Greet URGENT
Marty,
I'm looking at a map and am not quite sure where you are talking about for the gathering. Could you be a bit more specific? Also, there is a large open area where they play old-time baseball and the like...that would also be a good place if you want some cars in the photo.

They have always had areas for the cars to park by year of the car. No need to worry.

Re: OCF Meet and Greet URGENT
It was nice to put some faces to people I've conversed with on the forum.... too bad that more guys weren't able to show up. On a different note, the weather could hardly have been any better. The number and variety of cars was almost overwhelming. If you were there, like me you must have had a great time

I'm sorry I missed it. I was so wrapped up in trying get my car to run right that I forgot all about it until it was over. Maybe I'll be more alert next year.

Re: OCF Meet and Greet URGENT
For our first meeting we had about 25 people show up. We all introduced ourselves and gave a little explanation of who we were, our cars, etc. So now I have some faces to go with the names.

Re: OCF Meet and Greet URGENT
It was great to put faces to names. I had the pleasure of meeting Stan Howe in the parking lot friday. We had a nice visit and he had me in tears with some of his stories. Its nice to see the projects I follow on the forum running around at OCF. Dennis and Ed's just to start. I had a great day with friends and an old green truck. I dont think it sat still very long. The meet and greet was the same time as my pass and review so I came to see you guys. Everyone wanted a ride.I look forward to tomorrow!

This event looks like a great time and I now have my wife interested in attending next year. Where would we find information on registration? The picture is of my dad and I in our Fourth of July parade.

Re: OCF Meet and Greet URGENT
Craig, Go on The Henry Ford web site and navigate to the Events section, then go down to September and Old Car Festival. It's held on the first weekend after Labor Day every year. You have to apply and be accepted and this event is for 1932 and older cars and trucks, and bikes only.

Re: OCF Meet and Greet URGENT
It was great to meet all of you that were there.
For those that weren't, I'm the guy in the "If you want to race, Jalopy Showdown is the place" shirt.
And it was a hoot hearing/meeting Mr. Bufalini. After a year of giving tours at Piquette, and a lifetime of hearing him on the radio, I was most glad to see his sense of humor is very much like my own. Those that were there know what I mean.
Hope to see you all next year- and hopefully with my son's speedster this time!

Re: OCF Meet and Greet URGENT
I didn't have any transportation and can't walk very far so I missed the whole meeting.
I did talk to a few people Saturday and Sunday who either knew my name or were just friendly.
It was interesting. I went back to the museum today and walked through some of it.
Both days in the afternoon I sat in the bleachers and watched the cars go by.
Saw all the 14 touring cars I ever need to see.
Lots of interesting cars n stuff to look at.
At the airport headed home.
I would have liked another day to just drive around and look at the Detroit car stuff.

Same, Dallas. Your truck is a beauty. I was very fortunate to spend so much time in it... it definitely didn't help curb my urge to own a TT someday!

If we do it again next year I recommend Sat morning at 9. Then we can offer rides to whoever does not have a car and we will know who we are looking for all day.

Bummer on missing the pass and review, Dallas...
It was great seeing you again, and the fantastic job you did on your 'convertable' truck, however!
Here are a couple shots I got of the meeting.. (strangely, I didn't take ANY other photos of OCF!!)
