WANTED, Rear Spring Shackle '17-'23

Post by Pep C Strebeck » Mon Sep 09, 2019 5:46 pm

I am looking for a useable rear spring shackle, the '17 to '23 forged style shackle not the later C style. I am in need of one to make a matched set. If anyone might have one available, please let me know. I need one that is useable, not repairable. You can contact me through a PM here on the forum, thank you for your time and help, Joe. Really hard to find those. Your best bet is going to Hershey with a sample and a micrometer.

Joseph, that type of shackle was used for most of our Canadian sourced cars in the 20's. US production went to the U shaped one earlier. They are eminently rebuildable if you have access to a mig welder and a lathe.

Thank you for the help and for the looking. Even if anyone has only one half of a good shackle, that will REALLY help me out. Thanks again, Joe.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

I have 2. One is similar to the first photo with square ends. It also has threads for an oiler. The other is like the set depicted on E-Bay. I will send you either or I can bring to Hershey with your name on it.
