Cool steering box
This is ether going on my 21 or? Anyone know what it was off of? Yes it has a Model T spider on it. The lower bracket is adjustable so you can set the box and column at most any angel. The bearing surfaces are a bit worn but the teeth look good. It is a cross swing. The ball needs some loving but looks to be the same size as T.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Re: Cool steering box
Mark I have seen a few in vintage wooden boats. Now is it for that purpose, no real clue. They used two bell-cranks in the system to connect to the rudder. ??
Hope this Helps,
Hank

Re: Cool steering box
Thanks for what it fits. The rust worms got to the outside of the shaft some, but being solid don't think will hurt it much. I will have to shorten it about 9-10 inches and will use the T mast jacket and rods.
