Good morning from Scotland, I have been using the forum for years as a reference to help me get my farm hack "Gin Runner" back together and finally got around to registering I bought my T as a running but rough ex fairground racer from Neil Tuckett here in the UK in about 2005 but due to work and various house, workshop and storage moves it lay in various fields and yards up until 2 years ago when It got pulled out of the undergrowth and I started to give it a mechanical overhaul.
I got it running again two weeks ago using a Model A manifold with a bolt on adapter to use a 1.25" SU carburettor that I had used on my Indian Stroker, with a borrowed new Texas T distributor it fired up with the second turn of the crank and I had a celebratory drive around the farm paddock! Its still very much a work in progress to get it roadworthy but I hope to have it on the road in the spring
I have also been gathering the parts to build a TwinT, with inspiration from the late Gary LeFever's maroon car. I spoke to Gary about it 10 years ago in a phone conversation after I had seen pictures of it here on the forum. I now have two fresh built 1926 engines and the parts to build a 1926 rolling chassis. I hope to link the two engines on a one piece folded oil pan (with separate oil baths) and will join the two cranks with a duplex chain joint as Gary did.
I look forward to getting involved with the forum from the other side of the pond

Welcome to the forum! I look forward to seeing pictures of your "Gin Runner" (some of us over here do not get facebook very well). Is there a historic reason for calling your T that? Was running gin something that happened much in your corner of the world? Over here, that failed experiment with prohibition led to a lot of gin running during the 1920s.

Welcome Steve. Where in Scotland are you located? I lived near Dundee years ago. Was stationed at a USN base at a small town south of Aberdeen, Edzell. We were members of the Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club and helped start the Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis Castle, which of course still continues today. We're good friends of Mike povey (1912 T) who just made his trip to Glamis - he's made every one of them since the beginning. Although we didn't have a T in Scotland, we drove our 1935 Morris 8 everywhere and still have it here in Virginia.

Thank you Terry, im on the Black Isle, north east of Inverness in Fortrose. I get to Glamis sometimes.. its a great show. Next step is to fit a recently aquired, rebuilt Ruckstell rear axle with big drums and 5 stud hubs. then i can fit 21” wire wheels all round with road tyres.. hope to be roadworthy for Spring

Hi Norm, it seems to run pretty well. I dont have a sock exhaust manifold to compare to and have not yet been out in the open road, but around the farm and up the lane it pulls nicely with quite instant response from the throttle.. i rigged up a cable operated foot throttle just to confuse my feet even more

I'll lip off and say it's a good thing you don't have a stock exhaust in your stash. Once I took off the cobbled together headers and put on original it took all the wind out of the sails and tossed out the torque...

Haha, Aye Duey I have no intention of putting the car back to stock as my plan is to gradually get it prepared for vintage sports car trials it will need all the extra breathing it can muster to keep up with the MG's Austin's and Riley's. To keep within the rules I will have to use parts from pre 1931 cars, so the model A bits should be fine. I have and earlier pre war SU to rebuild to replace the existing one
