Oil Can accessory , Spring loaded holder $45ppd

Post by Dropacent » Thu Oct 31, 2019 5:42 pm

This is an authentic copy of an original era accessory , a spring loaded oil can holder that can mount on your car. In the following pictures, we show one without the finish so the details can be seen a bit better. I’ve also seen them mounted inside tool boxes, to keep the oil can safe, secure and not tip over. I’ve seen them mounted to the hood sills, too. Up to you, as installation ISN’T included. The modern change we made is a Henry Ford black powder coat finish instead of dipping them, and a stainless steel rivet. $45 ,postage paid to your door. Tmorsher@icloud.com is the only way to get one heading your way, please write with your postal address, and we will share payment details. A check, or PayPal GIFT works for us. Again, writing to tmorsher@icloud.com is the only way to get one.

Sorry Steve, no oil cans for sale from me right now. Around here, you can still find them for very reasonable money in antique shops on occasion. Yes, there are some marked for crazy money but those sit a long time. I’ll buy them for $20-30 bucks when I get the chance. They are also on eBay every day, and I’ll bet if you put a want ad here, someone will have one with your name on it.

Hi, while we are talking about oil cans, would they differ between the years. What would be correct for early 12. If I can find one I would certainly purchase one of your holders. Unless you have an original one available.

Michael, I remember an article somewhere that jumped deep into the oil can history. I cannot remember where it was, and not sure actual dates were pinned down. Someone could post that on the forum. Just a guess, but I’d think a 1909 patent oil can would be appropriate for your early car. Maybe it’s 1908 patent. I have a couple and will check. Most cans did not have patent info on them. I think with any of the tools supplied, they bought them wherever they could. 15+million is a lot of oil cans, and pliers, and, and ,and

One oil can on its side leaking is one too many! Spring loaded to eliminate one more rattle. Take care of the environment by installing a nice oil can holder on your car. You will never be without a handy source of lubricating oil, and more apt to oil the things on Lizzie that need oiling, and you will help miss Connie buy food to feed her guy. And, they are just well built for a lifetime of service. I can think of a lot more reasons , just give me a minute. Tmorsher@icloud.com to reach us.
