Carmine Red

Post by Bill Everett » Tue Dec 10, 2019 12:52 pm

I am going to paint my current project Carmine Red.

Can anyone help with where I can find a color chip, and/or a color code?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Bill: I found this in a post from last year. http://www.mtfca.com/cgi-bin/discus/sho ... st=1129180

"BODY COLORS
(Paint numbers are Ditzler unless noted otherwise)
VARNISHES (Used 1909 to 1925)
Color Modern DDL# DAR #
Red Carmine 71969 71969"

Here is a chip image with an AVERY Paint #, sorry I don't know much about paint. https://flickr.com/photos/wrapform/7735 ... otostream/

And I found this more modern reference to Carmine Red, paint code 80F, which may be a car makers paint code.

Good luck with your project, pls post some pics along the way, jb

A real close color to my Tudor is a 69 Ford color, it was on my Mach one years ago, not quite as brown cast but better color to me, take a look!

These paints and codes were posted in past Forum answers. May help too if after an enamel paint.

Does someone have a a good source for the Carmine Red enamel used for the chassis on the 1909 Fords?

1.Have brought at my local DuPont auto paint store. Carmine Red code number 7410AH DuPont is now Axalta.

2. Another excellent product is Nason Ful-Thane, which is a single stage urethane paint. The color is "Red" and the paint code is CG2911B.
