Aluminum Body
Any info or interest in an Aluminum T body? Just the sheet metal. All disassembled and in a pile. Has been covered and stored in an old cars trunk for many years. Don't know what year. Am told it is all there. If I want it it has to be moved soon. No pics yet. I really have no use for it, so it will be for sale. Anybody have Ideas on what year, body style, and possible worth? Will try to get some pics in the near future (weather permitting). Possible I will have it ready to take to Chickasha. Thanks STEVE!!!

I'm interested bu depends on what it is
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Re: Aluminum Body
some 4 doors did indeed have aluminum skins and I thought there were some aluminum panels used on the center doors at some point.

Re: Aluminum Body
For Fords. Most of the outer metal skin on the early 1915 center-door sedan was aluminum. Some 1909 touring car bodies also had aluminum skins. The 1923 model T fordor sedan was mostly aluminum skin and doors. For '24, some of skins became steel, but I think the doors were still aluminum for part of the year. A few fordor sedans had some panels in aluminum into later '24.
Non-Fords, A lot of cars used aluminum. Both Pierce Arrow and Franklin used a lot of aluminum in their bodies through the '10s and '20s. Many other high-end cars it might depend on who the body builder was. I know many Lincolns had aluminum skinned bodies throughout the '20s, as did some Cadillacs and too many others to name.

Thanks for all the information, but the owner sold it before I could get a look at it. Steve
