Slotted Head #8 Wood Screws Free You Pay Shipping
I inherited about 20 lbs of #8 1 1/4" slotted head wood screws. Most of them have surface rust. These are quite old, and look a lot nicer than the phillips head screws they sell at Home Depot. If anyone wants some of them lease let me know, you pay mailing costs and they're yours. Thanks for looking.

Re: Slotted Head #8 Wood Screws Free You Pay Shipping
Put me down for about 3 pounds or so. I looked everywhere for some like that about 15 years ago and bought what I could find but have used almost all of them and have a need for more so this will save a lot of searching. I will send you the address but for postage costs the zip is 46947 here. Let me know how and where to send payment.
Give an old car guy a barn and he won't throw anything away.

Re: Slotted Head #8 Wood Screws Free You Pay Shipping
Those are what are known as long threads here. A normal 1 1/4' screw would have some plain shank under the head. Round heads like those are harder to find than countersunk ones, but then they are not used so much either.
I have reached the conclusion that I am never going to use all the slot head screws I have accumulated, so I have been bagging them up into clear plastic ziplocks and selling them at swap meets. At $2 a packet, with varying numbers depending on size, metal type, head shape, plating etc, They sell well. I even have 12g 3/4" countersunk head brass screws which suit early T steering wheels. Perhaps the weirdest ones are 3g, 1 1/4" nickel plated round heads.

Just to give you an idea I can fit 4 Lbs and some change in a small flat rate box. There's still enough to go around.

Re: Slotted Head #8 Wood Screws Free You Pay Shipping
I still have about 5 pounds left of these but they're rusty. You might be able to clean them up with a wire wheel. If you want to give it a try and let me know.
Thanks

These screws are a great deal. I took my "baggie" of them and put them in a sand-filled tumbler--they cleaned up quickly and now look great! thanks Rodger!
T'ake care,

Re: Slotted Head #8 Wood Screws Free You Pay Shipping
If you missed out on the first go around I found about 5 more lbs. of this size wood screw (#8 x 1 1/8") however, these are a little newer and quite a bit less rusty. Same deal as before you pay shipping and they're yours.
I also have maybe 1 or 2 lbs of 8 x 32 Slotted Oval Head Machine Screws, made of steel, 3/16 length, if anyone is interested. Again, just pay shipping.
Thanks for looking.

Rodger, I'd take a pound or so of your wood and a pound or so of the machine screws if you have any left if not, that's OK. I purchased a few lights off of you through the years. You do good work! Just let me know what I owe you and I can send check, Paypal or whatever works for you. Thanks.
