1919-20 touring windshield has rubber?
A model T person stated on FB that I should have a piece of rubber between my two windshields. I do not think I have ever seen this on anyone's car, so I am wondering what it is. Does this rest on the lower windshield so wind blown dust and rain do not slip between the windshield halves? Anyone have a photo?

The vendors have them advertised in their parts books.

According to Parts book, listing also by B. McCalley in the C-D encylo....
The T-9066X Channel, rubber, is listed for only the closed cars. The open cars '15-'22 didn't use a rubber channel. The closed cars got it assuming for the cloth upholstery. Open cars were more open to the elements
With the 'new' slant windshield open cars, '23-'25, that T-9066X was then used, as the upper windshield could fold out and away, so the channel was used.
The Improved car got same, but a tad longer, part T-40324X rubber channel.
1922 with vertical style windshield.

Re: 1919-20 touring windshield has rubber?
On the 1915 through 1922 roadster and touring windshields, in the up position, the upper half of the windshield sits forward of the lower half. Also, the bottom of the upper half slightly overlaps the top of the lower half when the windshield is in the up position.
Therefore, by design, there is no need for rubber between the two halves on 1915 through 1922 tourings and roadsters and they were not equipped with rubber as Dan posted above.

While they may not have come from the factory with the rubber, try driving in the rain without!! Between the rain coming over the top and blowing up thru the gap in your face, no fun. Might have been ok back in the day putting around at the slower speeds, we drive at faster speeds (well for us that live in areas the we have to drive faster) so I put one one mine.
Side note; I had to glue mine in place, the headwind would push if off the glass and had to keep pushing it down.

I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Maybe that our Canadian T's differ from US models but we list in period parts books as having a centre rubber in 1920 Tourings.

I put one on my 1919 Runabout a few ago. It’s no. 7840I in Lang’s catalog log. They call it an inverted H. between the windshield halves. Don’t know if it’s for a closed or open car but it does work. It’s listed for 15-22.

On the 17 to 21 open cars you can take a piece of rubber hose split it and slip it over the glass so they do not vibrate as much.
