Strange tire question

Post by GG Gregory » Sun Mar 22, 2020 5:13 pm

Ok, I have black wall tires on wire wheels on my 27 Roadster except the spare which is a whitewall. The reason I got the whitewall was because it was a great price. My question is what can I use to dye the whitewall to black ? Of course I want to use something that doesn’t leach off onto any painted surface. I have a tire cover but you can see the inside edge of the whitewall.

Take the tire off and remount it with the whitewall to the back side of the wheel. Black tire dressing over the white should hide it ok on the back.

There is special spray paint for vinyl dashboards & upholstery. It should work fairly well for your spare. It’s available thru most any auto parts supplier. Follow the directions on the can.
