There is a thru hole on babbit portion of the ball cap .
Does orientation Matter ?

Hole to top.
However........ If you have a transmission trash screen, it dumps A LOT of extra oil right on the 4th main leaking excessive oil into the U-joint, especially if the 4th main is on the loose side of the clearance spec.
