Has anyone seen this style of front axle before. I can’t tell if it’s store-bought or home made.

That appears to be like the "Henderson front spring" shown here;

The car of course is no longer a model T, and it appears the arch of the spring may have been modified as well. Generally, the unusual after-market spring setup looks good. It would be an interesting accessory to have on a model T at any veteran car gathering.

Won't the axle hit the bottom of the frame?

I've seen 2 others, both in North Dakota farm trucks.

It is an accessory made for a standard T front axle. In Australia they were made by Hendersons who were spring manufacturers. There is a USA made counterpart. I have never seen anything like that hotrod installation though.

I still run the "Henderson front spring". (Although it is now cleaned and painted.)
The car John posted above is "Garden Art Engineering". The placement of the track rod is problematic, although it could catch the front end if the main leaf fails
I was once told that the main leafs on these were a weak point. If you look closely at the photo of our car (second photo above) the second leaf wraps around the main. This makes the car sit a little "nose up", which I may fix one day, I've only been driving it for 12 years, so can't rush into things
I have a bucket of the end brackets in various states of wear, and somewhere there is another spring I may use.
