Front spring perches

I installing the front axle again after I had it straightened out .How do I identify a left from a right front spring perch? Is there a difference?

There is a difference. When installed properly the axle rakes back around 6 degrees@ the top with the perch bushings horizontal.

Go to Lang’s web site and take a look at the right and left spring perches. That will show you the angle of the left and right perches. You can use the pics as a guide.

The boss on the elbow of the perch goes to the rear.

This illustration shows the boss lug, with is used for lathe turning, that boss must be to the rear of the axle.

The left front perch is odd numbered 3819 and right is even 3818. On a Model T all odd numbers are left and even numbers are right where there is a left and right part.

The arrow points to the part that goes toward the rear of the car.
