Thank you for Dan and others rasing the Bolt Chart in Jacob's Hogshead thread post.
Dan has kindly sent me his list of corrections which I have updated in the attached chart revision.
BEFORE I post an update to the Gallery to replace the older version CAN YOU HELP ME?
I would appreciate data to complete or to verify the
'yellow' boxes in the chart.
This chart has been put together using the great work of Joe Boyers and Robert Ducharme (from Colorado I believe) who started out on this ambitious process.
I have used their start and added in data from other sources, from other forum members and from checking various bits myself. As such I make no claims to its actual accuracy, even though its
intended accuracy is superb
Please post in this thread or send me an email or PM from my forum profile.
If you are not much at typing, maybe print off the draft attached, mark it up (legibly please), scan and send that to me.
I will post a 'formal' revision at the end of July.
Many thanks for your help
Adrian Whiteman

A quick note about the 'Colorado' chart which was started back in the 2010's.
Errors and completeness:
This was reformatted into the current Bolt Chart format - so all the original data in that chart went exactly into the new format.
Errors have been fixed (though not all) and missing data has been added (though not all) to the first Colorado version so that the current format Bolt Chart is more correct and detailed than the first one. Keep this in mind if you have a copy of the original and use it for reference.
Even so, the current one isn't fool proof either - hence the request for help to improve it further.
Original has more information:
The Colorado chart included THREADED holes and components as well as bolts and screws. I have only carried forward bolts and screws into the new chart format in the basis that, by and large, the thread of the bolt or screw will fit the threaded hole, so there is more information in the original!
The work done in Colorado on threaded components is not lost! it is still in the original document.
Cheers,
Adrian

What would the bolts that hold the cab to the frame crossmember through the body blocks be called/identified as, as well as the rear ones that go thru those body blocks?

Are you referring to a car/roadster body or a TT truck cab?
If a TT cab. I can't find any specific factory numbers for those bolts, however, the factory drawings indicate that they are 1/2" bolts. No length is given, so you would need to have them to suit your particular body build. They would be carriage bolts.
For a car/roadster I can't find any part number or dimensions. They would be carriage bolts of length to suit the body.

The list covers only chassis parts, including Ruckstell and TT. Body fasteners are a whole other subject.

You'll need a Ford factory number to get the correct info from Benson Ford Research Center, but likely hard to do.
Ford Price List of Parts has some bolts listed for Fender Bolts and Nuts, but just part order # and price, no dimensions. Ford Price List of Body Parts doesn't list fasteners for the body/frame either. '
If doing a high quality restoration search out original cars to ascertain the proper fasteners. Have restored some '26-'27s but don't remember the actual fasteners, most times they are missing anyway unless the car was intact.
So measure the hole diameter in the frame brackets, and the wood blocks and use a rod to determine length overall. Then get a min. Grade 5 bolt, lock washer and hex nut, and all should be good.

I have been very interested in bolts forever. What I have done is to familiarize myself with the type of bolts Ford actually used, and gone from there.
When you have an area that requires a certain size of bolt, meaning the diameter, and tpi,and the length, then you have it. I've been collecting original bolts both used and NOS for years, and a few years ago was able to assemble a 1925 pickup from my collection. It was not only fun, but satisfying too, knowing I had used all the correct fasteners for my project.
