Old brass Zenith Carbureator

This Zenith Carb is Patented Dec 29, 1908. I have never taken it apart but it sounds like it has a brass float in it. On the side is cast 04 and to the right of that i stamped F5988 and a 0 laying sideways. The throttle plat is not the normal tin plate but a tapered brass disc that is a little over 9/64 thick.
It looks like there may have been an air filter that went on it. Below the choke there is a band with a slotted and knurled headed machine bolt with a nut. This band can be turned to open or close a slot on either side that is slightly less than 1/2 inch high and about 1 inch long. the thread at the throttle is just under 1 11/64. The bolt holes are 5/16 NC. There is very minimal wear in the throttle and Choke shaft. the choke has a very strong spring under the lever.
Anyone have an Idea what it may have been used on as it is an updraft or know anyone looking for one. Like a lot of other things it has been in my attic for at least 30 years.
