Does the front running board bracket on a 26-27 car have a dip between the frame rails to clear the pan or driveshaft?
I removed a Warford and the prior owner cut the bracket to make room. I intend to weld in a piece from another but am unsure if it has a dip like the controller shaft.

The front and rear running board brackets are identical. Both will have a hump in the center, not a dip like the handbrake. The 26-27 style are the same as 21-25 style everywhere except each end of the bracket is longer and has two holes at each end instead of one so they would fit the wider 26-27 running boards.. The two holes were there so the 26-27 brackets could be cut off to use as replacement parts for the 21-25 era cars

Thank you for the explanation and photo. The referenced thread was interesting. The Warford I removed was the aluminum type with no cross bar supporting the weight and nothing like the aftermarket truss rod support shown in the thread. I suspect a lot of folks run with a Warford that way.
