Do the Stewart models 160 and 490 work with the wood wheels?

Yes they will, but a 490 is a much better looking speedometer for a 26-7.

Yes, depending on the road gear and pinion gear and related mounts.
For example 490 uses spiral gears, for the balloon wood wheel, #32166 is the road gear, rigid pinion and fiber gear assembly, wood wheel #32270 and the main clamp mount for wood wheel #32157.
Best ref. with photos for your search of parts is Russ Furstnow's "The Antique Automobile Speedometer" , copy avail. from parts vendors.

Thanks for the information,
At first, all I could find online was a picture of what looked like a period advertisement for the 490 and 160 and it showed the spiral gear set up on a wire wheel. Lang's has a repro of it but it only works with wire wheels (no mention if works with adapted Models A wire wheels).
Once I had the search words in the correct order, this thread came up. Guess no one reproduces the wood wheel parts.

Your fitting would really depend on what drive set-up you wish.
The 490 head, and the 160 head will work with the swivel drive components, like the '25 and earlier.
So you don't have to run the later spiral gear components. Reproductions on the wire spiral gear and mount because most today that add a correct speedo to their '26-'27 op too for the wire wheels I guess
Best to speak to Russ Furstnow on the drive set you need.

Couple more 1926 & 27 threads (and earlier) below that may help someone out.

Couldn't re-find the thread this picture was in:
Not sure if a 25 or earlier swivel would work with the 26/27 dropped spindles.

My first Model T was a 1926, and it had a 490. It also had 30X3 1/2 wheels, and used the same wheel set up as the earlier cars. I guess whoever bought the car new didn't want 21's, as it had all the Ford accessories on it.
