I had a brand new Bosch mechanical temp gauge still in the packaging (who knows how long I've had that laying around). Installed it in the head and am running a 190* temp consistently after about a 15 minute drive, seems about right to me.

Re: What have you done with your T in March?
I've changed the 1915 headlights to the 1913's. still thinking about the side lights.
As you can see, I've also been converting it into a fire chiefs car more on that later.

Re: Cramped TT cabs
A few years ago we visited the "Custer last stand" memorial in Montana. In their museum there is a display of cavalry uniforms. My first reaction was why are they showing children's uniforms? They weren't, The soldiers were that small!

converting to quartz/halogen lights
I am converting the 1915 headlights to Brass 1913 headlights with the quartz/halogen conversion pieces from Chaffin. (see 1st photo.) Is the Diagram the correct wiring? (second photo). The original wiring used the blk and white wires from the switch wired directly to the bulbs (internally grounded?)...

Well, I kind of understand what some of you are saying with regard to traveling (touring) among similarly equipped vehicles. However, I for one am not a tour participant (no club in Eugene) and pretty much exclusively do my T driving in the midst of everyday road hogs. SO, I greatly appreciate my la...

Re: Hog head oil leak
After replacing the HH on the 26, I has a small drip coming from the bottom of the Universal cap. I wiped it down and forced some Hylomar Blue up into it and it hasn't dripped sense. That stuff is amazing, never hardens.

Re: rajo with water in oil
I think I have fond the problem, :!: The previous owner speculated that an existing radiator leak might be traveling down the block and pan, thus ending up on the drain pipe and might be what I was seeing and concluding that it was a leaking drain plug. Made sense, so I started investigating. I clea...

Mark, Rod mentioned in another thread about oil in the cooling system and pressurized oiling. I assume oil has to get up there to lube the rockers. Do you have a picture of the oil passage or the gasket ? Dave, look at the photo below, note the line going into the valve cover, I think that's the oi...

Re: rajo with water in oil
Probably a blown head gasket. It would help to know what head you have. Is it a 8-valve or a 4-valve. ?? Post a couple pictures of the head if you can ... The 4-valves are very prone to blown head gaskets. But there is a fix, if you have a 4-valve Rajo... I've found out that the Rajo is a C-35 8 va...

Most likely a Model 35 - can't see under the manifolds to any verify short bolts Model 30 - if it has conventional head bolts, it's a Model 35. According to the link above, the 30 had 4 exhaust ports while the 35 only had 3, If that's the case, then mine would be the 35 based on the number of exhau...

Re: rajo with water in oil
I would suspect the head gasket, you can do a cylinder leak test before pulling the head and maybe see where/which cylinders are leaking. TDC, hold the engine from turning and pressurize the cylinder at TDC, check for bubbles in the radiator... Does oil pressure run up top ? I didn't install the ra...

oK, I have discovered water/antifreeze in the oil and oil in the radiator, this on an engine with a Rajo head installed as well as a pressurized oil system. Yes, I am aware that Chuck Oakley was the previous owner (I bought it from him and he provided most of what I know about the car). I'm more interested in finding out who was the first owner and what HE did with the car.

Split rim wheel lug tightening
Here's the issue: Went to remove the wheels/tires on the 13, this car has wood spoke split rims on it. First thing I noticed was all the lug nuts were not very tight (probably finger tight with a 1/2 turn on the nut added) every tite/wheel the same. Then I noticed that there was about 3/16" space be...

I'm going to be putting all white tires on one of the speedsters.
