Temperature here is 101 F at 1:15 PM, per the NWS. Forecast is 102 F. Looks like we may beat that. However, the heat index is only 98F. The reason for the heat, paradoxicaly, is an approaching cold front, downslope winds, and very dry air in place, with the relative humidity below 20%.

Well, I underwent the knee replacement surgery on July 25 and it went very well. It helps to have a great surgeon. Since pain is one of the main obstacles to recovery from this surgery, he installed a pain pump that, for several weeks, will automatically inject a strong pain medication deep into the joint so that I am feeling very little pain....

Your discharge nurse gave good advice. Are you also going to a PT clinic? Those folks can do wonders for you. I had a knee replaced in 2020 and yes it is painful and the ice machine saved my life. I had a hip replaced last December and I will say the hip is much easier.

I purchased three U & J carbs last year as a lot, from one of our Forum posters (thank you). One of them had been all but destroyed. I got two (2) Simpson 260 meters that are only good for parts. I have fixed mine meter and need to get rid of the rest.
One has case , other doesn’t.
Meter movements look good and the rest is there.

Here are some photos of a hubcap wrench that is non-Model T and I just wanted to know what car this is for.

Hello there, some fragments i found when dismantling the starter of my '66 CJ5 have me baffled :
The starter had a tendency to lock the bendix in either the out- or the in position, resulting in the starter not disconnecting, or not engaging.

Recently, I purchased a vintage Zenith Trans-Oceanic portable (23lbs!) radio. It's in beautiful physical condition and functions (until yesterday) perfectly.

I understand that this style of Briggs and Stratton ignition switch was used on various makes from the mid-teens well into the 1920s including Dodge Brothers.

Any other makes for which this switch would be correct?

Also - it's available if anyone needs it. The lock and the light switch handle move freely/not frozen.

The famous Willow Springs raceway is for sale, the oldes still operating road race circuit in the US, run by the Huth family from 1963 it is still mostly in the state when opened in '53.
It has been used by Hollywood for filming famous racing scenes, the last big production being 'Ford vs Ferrari'

2. What year the engine was made as its not the original number matching the original paperwork. 1929 was 46 HP v 1930 HP is 50 HP so is this engine a 46 HP?

My Grandfather used baby food jars ( small & large) and mayonnaise jars. He screwed the lids to wooden rotisseries so he could see what was inside then just unscrew the jar from the lid on the down side so nothing spilled out. My Grandparents recycled everything but toilet paper.

No sign of Vanadium steel in Flanders ads, even when they talk about the production process. It might be a safe assumption they did not, maybe compensated for by the increased axle...

I have some MARX trains from the 1950s 60s. One of the engine tenders features Sound of Power, an old style circuit board that creates static. The power is picked up by a wheel that rubs on the center rail. The wheel has gaps in it to stop the electricity on an equally spaced interim.
