Tommy
How authentic do you want your car to be?
You say you have acquired most of the parts.
The earliest 1909's like yours have quite a few parts that are different than the regular production 1909's.
If authenticity is important to you, then you should familiarize yourself with those early parts.

Looks like an old hot rod component made by "PSI". They made a lot of "ductal" iron suspension pieces.

Kim, Mark left some of his cars to a few of his friends.
I understand his model T " collection" has been sold to one person.
Did you see the all original '32 phaeton ?

Re: A few from here, a few from there.

this Tourabout appears to be a very early 1909. Square bill front fenders & screw on brass trim - wood running boards.
That puts it in the below 2,500 serial number range.

Re: A bit of help please...

Looks like motorcycle speedo drive.
It would clamp to the rear frame & that gear / sprocket would mesh with the sprocket on the rear wheel .
Probably worth pretty good money in the vintage motorcycle world.

Rich Eagle,
yes #220 once belonged to Ben Snyder.
Ben Invited my dad to his place to see #220 just after he bought It.
My Dad owned #714 & Ben wanted my dad to see #220 before he started the restoration.
I was lucky enough to tag along with my dad on that visit To Ben's place !

Unique body combo.
1911 step side body.
two piece dash.
fore doors that are straight on top..
First time I've seen this combo. On car's with the two piece dash, normally the fore doors would "step down "

Tom, I prefer the darker color you have mixed up.
My Dad matched the original paint on his '09 & it's a darker red than what we see on most '09 restorations.

I'd love to have a 1913 roadster.
Looks like the headlights have been electrified & an electric horn added.
I see striping on the wheels but none on the body .

Re: Touring roof irons

Your car has the 1923 / 1925 style body.
Neither of the sets of bows you have are correct.
One of your sets is for a 1922, the others don't appear to be for a Ford.
You need to locate a set for the 1923 to 1925 body, like in the very first picture you posted .

I thought this was interesting
This appears to be an early 1909, with the squared off front fenders & the early, brass trimmed, covered wooden running boards .

The car is listed in the 1909 California DMV records as being owned by A. Lantz, Colton Calif. which is what the second owner told my dad . The second owner owned a Ford dealership " Banta & Smith" in Colton & took the car in on trade in 1918. He kept the car at the dealership. When he retired he mo...

As far as provenance, model T #714 that my family once owned has a complete know history.
A. Lantz from Colton Calif was the first owner.
My dad was the third owner.
Los Angeles County Museum, that now owns the car is the 6th owner.

When I was at Ben Snyders with my dad, examining #220 when he first acquired it , he pointed out an original 1909 touring car rear body section he had. That is what he used to replace #220's missing rear seat section. I know others claim that #220 was a " mess", that is just not true . Ben asked my ...

I saw # 220 at Ben Snyder's place when he first acquired it .
The rear seat & seat riser were missing, other than that it was very complete & original.
These pictures show how it appeared when Ben bought it .

the 1911 " torpedo " has unique frame to firewall mounting brackets .
It has two mounting holes to the dash & it is offset 2 inches to the rear where it mounts to the frame,
as the torpedo hood is 2 inches longer .

why not press the gear off , install the parts & press the gear back on ?
Then you wouldn't need to machine the whole axle .

The brackets you show are for the rear seat .
The brackets for the front seat are a simple " L " version & do not have the " zig zag " on the lower leg .
