universal joint noise
Just yesterday I noticed a tapping sound that goes with the drive shaft. I removed the floor boards and drove with a passenger and he said it feels like it coming from the u-joint area. Any ideas what else it could be? Thanks in advance.

Re: Generator not building up
if while the car is running, I remove the cutout cover and press the contact, the generator charges. When i shut the car off and restart it, the contact does not make contact. I can run it that way, I just have to remember to push the contact.

Generator not building up
I noticed that the battery wasn't charging and the cutout was not closing. If I manually make contact with the cutout, it charges! Why won't the generator build up to make the cutout work?

carb needle adjustment
I read that the needle valve adjustment should be at about one to two turns open when running. The needle adjustment on my car only opens just over a half turn from closed! Carb was rebuild a couple years ago. Runs great pulling hills but idles a little rough. Is there a way to make it open more? Th...

Rough idle
The 1919 roadster runs great, pulls hills no problem. Now for some reason, it idles rough. What to check first? It has a new Anderson timer and rebuilt coils.

Noticed today that exhaust is coming out from under the nut ( between the pipe and nut ) that connects the manifold to the pipe. The nut is tight. What can I do?

HeyNorm. No RuckstelL or auxiliary brakes. Could it be possible the bands were not getting enough oil and the bands were binding? He used a screen. He did make an adjustment on the brake band.

engine braking
My son was driving his 1919 Roadster today and when going down a steep hill he would engine brake while in high gear. This time he felt the car really slow down like there was something going on. He put the car in neutral and it still felt like he was engine braking! He pulled over and couldn't find...

Tube valve stem cut off
Besides low air pressure, what would cause a valve stem to shear? Tire pressure was 60 psi. The stem was still perfectly straight and stuck in the rim! I am using a flapper also, could that be a problem? Have about 2000 miles on tire and tube.

Steve... all i mean by that is that the engine still has the 2-piece valves and most likely hasn't been rebuilt, same goes for the trans. Well they sure look like they haven't been rebuilt.

Re: Looked at a TT today
Hello everyone, so i went to take a closer look at the TT today. I discovered that it is equipped with a 2 speed Ruxtull. To further search for the cause of the problem at hand, i removed the oil fill plug in the axle and told a friend of mine to turn the crank. I observed the driveshaft turning but...

Looked at a TT today
I looked at a TT today and it was in a very tight space, but I was able to turn the crank. It was easy to turn and when I put it in high or stepped on the peddle for low, the rear wheels did not turn! Could the drive shaft be disconnected? Could it be a broken crank? Next weekend I will be able to t...

stalls when fully retarted and on mag
For whatever reason, the car runs great on mag except when you stop and fully retard the spark! Then it stalls. When on battery, it will stay running with the spark fully retarded. This is something that just started. What do I check? Merry Christmas and thanks!
