6th from the bottom: is that Model S a wide track ? If so, it’d be the first I’ve seen…
I'm not saying it isn't a wide track, but there looks like there is a lot of wide angle lens distortion - note the curvature in the background.

For Don Booth

Dear Mr. Booth. I see that you’re asking for your account to be deleted. I’m sure it’s for good personal reasons, but I ask you to reconsider. Who am I? I’m one of the people who would like to own a Model T, but can’t right now, (or as it’s looking, may never be able to). I’ve just scrolled thru you...

Is that pic third from the end of the '23 Runabout reversed? It could be a RHD model but the numbers on the plate look backwards.

Paul
I don't see any hinges on the door, so my vote is for "reversed".

A few people used a kitchen match to check the fuel level. Not many did it more than once.

Re: Color photographs.

Pre 1930 color photographs are rare. There was no easy way to make a color print of an Autochrome plate or even duplicate them. Autochrome plates were very expensive and quite a bit more work. Here's a link to an pretty good article about Autochromes: https://rihsgraphics.wordpress.com/2010/07/19/lu...

Is that the tail of a crashed airplane sticking up in the center background in picture 4? The cars are neat, but something seems to be going on in the background.

I think it’s a 10 cause of how dark the paint is . Must be green. It may be - but remember that film at that time was color blind and not sensitive to red. That tended to make red go very dark to black depending on the amount of UV light it reflected. I love these old photos. They really make thing...

Explain how to enable a quote, most posters do that because the don’t know how. To respond with a quote - go to the post you wish to quote - click the quotation mark on the upper right and the quote will appear with your response box. And as Steve has said - edit the quote to keep our eyes from gla...

Were the little metal film cans used in the 50s or 60s?
I remember them disappearing about 1970 (give or take a little). Cool fotos!

Re: If you were interviewing a 98 year old Model T Guy

First off, do a pre-interview, in person or on the phone. Get to know the person you are interviewing. Get as much info you can about the person before the interview. I agree with all of this except - record even the preliminary conversations - you never know what will be gold until it's gone. Good...

Have any original wires been kept in the dark for 100 years to preserve their color? Probably not.
If there is any good remaining evidence of original color, it will most likely be small patches under the crimped ends of the connectors. Even then, time, age, and heat do their thing...

At six feet, George Washington was considered a very tall man. LINCOLN_GENERALS copy.jpg At 6'4", Lincoln towers over his generals. He's a full head taller than McClellan, and perhaps a full head smarter. :) If you go to a museum and see a medieval suit of armor, it's likely to appear about the rig...

Very sorry to hear of that. When cleaning antique Edison Phonograph finishes, I've had really good success with non-pumice GoJo hand cleaner and lots of paper towels. It may be worth a try on some hidden surfaces. Good luck!

Good film that. History takes a beating all right, the pedals the driver slams in his emergency stop don't belong to a T.
To me it looks like '26-'27 petals with a foot feed in the few clear frames.

In my experience, Abatron's LiquidWood and WoodEpox work way better than the Minwax product. Admittedly, I've been using them on my 1921 house which doesn't go anywhere near as fast as a Model T.
