Re: 1914 Windshield from Speedway Motors??

There will be more work involved, but you can wind up with a flawless piece. Speedway purchased the windshield business from Mr. Roadster many years ago and have expanded ...

On the 1984 cross country run there was a guy from Richardson, Texas named Ralph Reeder who drove a center door sedan with air conditioning. I never saw his set up, but the car was fast. It would drive around me, climbing a hill and disappear over the next one. I’m sure it had an overhead. It was ho...

My guess is you have the repo springs on the hold downs and that is a lot of your problem. They are WAY to stiff. Take them off and take a hold down to the hardware store and ask if they h...

It’s great to see a young man use his talents and vision to create. I am impressed with the design and execution of this project and the solutions to problems that present themselves as is always the case with building something where nothing existed before. You should be very proud of what you have...

Had the same problem once with some original wood wheels once. Broke em down and took a chisel and gave the inner edge of the rim a good cross smack about every 6”. No more slipping.

Howard was a great guy. We would laugh about goofy things people did to Model Ts and at the same time marvel at how people got them to go so fast. He was a good salesman when he would twist my arm when it came to things of club business. Usually at swap meets our paths would cross and he was always ...

My choice- paint the rims and hubs black. And the fellows and the spokes green. OR all green. You did so much work with the rest of the car to keep it looking correct, I think with natural finish wood you’ll find it takes on the circus look. Just my 2 cents. I like the car.

Re: 14 Help Please, Radiator/Fenders don't align

My guess on what’s going on. My guess is they are reproduction fenders. They did not realize that the rear of the flange on the skirt (the area that lays on top of the frame), should be cut away to clear the frame to firewall brackets and allow the fender to move back to allow the fender skirt to cl...

Re: Speedster: '26-'27 cowl on pre-20's frame

Thought I should chime in here. The fenders, aprons and boards are 10-11 torpedo. Your 15 frame is perfect for this project for the following reasons. The front crossmember does not need to have the ears trimmed, as well as already having the 3 holes in place for the front fender iron to bolt to the...

Re: Early Body Bracket to frame bracket

The round hole brackets are correct for a 1912. The early bodies have an exposed stringer at the bottom of the body, that mounts sideways to the brackets in question. The carriage (or step) bolts mount from the outside of the stringer, thru the stringer, with the square shank under the head, buried ...

It’s 14 or 15. Not both. Picture appears to have crease inboard of top edge make inferences its a 14. 15 has no crease and rounded edge at front nose. We can’t see that in pic. Good luck.

Re: 1909 touring photos

Here are pics of a town car and you can see the beads on the fenders appear to be black. In any case they are much darker than the field area of the fender. In the contrast of color pics I’ve seen, it is harder to see the contrast of black/green than black/red. So if I had to guess, I would say thes...
