Don't throw away those worn or pitted TT Shackles. The attached photo illustrates a means to rejuvenate your old shackles. Weld or splatter weld the worn or pitted surface of the shackle, then, assemble the Machining Fixture to the shackle. Chuck the assembly to your lathe and turn down the built up...

Mike, I believe the Twin-High Hi-Lo shifts correct for that period --- with that said, when shifting from Under to Direct it shifts a tad harder. I have over 13,000 miles on my TT since restoration. For what it's worth and Rich you can chime in as well --- running forged aluminum rods with one piece integral dippers rod caps and insert bearings (non pressurized). Accumulated over 8500 miles.
