How to remove reflectors from headlight bucket

How are the reflectors mounted in the bucket on a 26 Coupe? I tried prying around the edge, hoping to release them, but I was hesitant to apply too much force.

Re: dim/bright switch unstable-SOLVED!

After opening the switch case, I checked the continuity from the Dim terminal to the battery and right to the battery. There is a good connection between both. Checking Dim to Bright revealed no continuity; however, I inadvertently slipped the volt meter probe down into the screw receptacle and hit ...

dim/bright switch unstable

After installing some new LED headlight bulbs, they adjust to dim but will flicker and readjust to bright. By bringing the lever back a few degrees from the complete setting, they will dim again, but that point is very delicate and must be manually maintained. On bright, they both perform accurately...

Re: 1926 Ford Model T modification

Hi, everyone, I am a bit new to the forum, but am enjoying the chatter. I have learned several good tips and tricks. Hopefully, I will be able to some! I have a 26 Tudor and a 1919 roadster (basket case) ready to hit the road this spring. The starter talk has been good! Does anyone know what the am...

Plugs #1 and #4 more fouled

Notoriously these two plugs show more fouling while #2 and #3 will appear clean. I understand this is due to the fact the two end cylinders run cooler because of their 3-side exposure, while the center ones run hotter because more heat builds up between those two cylinders as a result of their confi...

Re: Magneto cuts out and in

Thanks, everyone. When I get at it I will start w/ testing the magneto output under various inclinations. That, unfortunately, makes sense as the first incident occurred when climbing up that rocky, rutted >5% road that was bad enough that my door kept unlatching--something that never happened befor...

Magneto cuts out and in

I took a 35-mile drive today and the last half a mile was up a steep, rutted and rocky road when my 26 Coupe quit. Flipping the key over to the battery it started immediately, but when switched back to mag it quit again. I managed to get to our destination on battery and when starting for home after...

Re: How to mount a dash cam

Don, you might be able to get around the windscreen glass problem by mounting the device from the front top bow just outboard of the windscreen. It would be a little more vulnerable out there, but so are many mirrors, and they survive. If I were to do this on my roadster, it would be under the rear...

How to mount a dash cam

I've thought that recording videos of some of our tours would create some great memorabilia and my new cell phone does a nice job of recording time-lapse videos, but I'm stymied by how to mount it on a Model T. A camera needs to be relatively tight to the glass for best clarity or you'll get side re...

Viewing old forum

I know the old archives are no longer supported, but I hope their current presentation can be corrected. After logging in to the New Forum and then trying to look at old threads, no matter which year I select--2018, 2017, 2016, 2015--any word search defaults to 2015 only. Presuming this can be corre...

Transport 26 Coupe from WI top MT

In the dissolution of a family estate, there is a 26 Coupe of my granddad's located in Wisconsin rightfully belonging to my nephew. He's at a stage in life where he has neither space nor the assets to perform any restoration at this time and I offered to try to retrieve it and "get it running" for h...

Moving seat back in 26 Coupe

There have been discussions about moving the seat back in Model T coupes but renovation details are sketchy. While some larger drivers feel comfortable enough, I feel cramped, especially on longer tours that might cover several hundred miles over a few days on tertiary mountain roads. My co-owner so...
