I replaced the reproduction brass windshield clamps Roth original ones. I’ve got the original bolts and nuts but I’ve got them with other items I need to have brass plated. I had to redrill the holes, I filled the other ones in Roth dowel rod. At some point I’ll need another dash when I get all the ...

My grandpa, born in 1915, used to always talk about “modelber rims.” He must’ve heard someone that couldn’t read well call them that instead of “demountable”, or maybe he didn’t read well when he was the age those wheels were around.

It could be a new item, I just saw it a few days ago but Lang’s lists the solid wire. I don’t know if that 1 each is a length of wire long enough to make the 3 separate wires or if you have to buy 3. When I did mine, since it’s not visible, I used some modern solid wire out of some romex house wire.

The coil box should be an easy find, the combo light switch and dimmer coil may be more difficult. If you want to run the lights from a battery you could wire that switch to the battery instead of mag and not use the dimmer coil but you’d need a battery horn because one wire from the mag goes into t...

The rear wheels on a Model 91 Overland have the outer flange made onto the hub and the brake drum serves as the backing plate. I never thought about the spokes being reversed so I went out and looked. Front hubs are like T hubs.

Re: Converting Holley NH swivel top to nonswivel NH?
I’ve never seen one without threads in the carburetor body regardless off which needle was on it. The later needle threads only into the nut and not the body but the threads are still in there or you can make a T top to a swivel top also but you have to replace the needle and nut. The ones made in 1...

Re: Ford NH vs Holley NH Differences
I was working on this one today. It has the screw in vent like the early straight through NH’s and no data plate. It has Ford cast into the body, but is a swayback with the offset drain and long throttle and choke arms. Maybe it’s a transitional model.

Re: Holley NH swivel top carburetor
It works but they started using a slightly larger float because of increased fuel pressure from the cowl mounted tank. I’ve never had a cowl mounted tank, so I say they work, but I figure since they only make the smaller floats and I’ve never heard much discussion about them not working.

Re: 1914 Stynoski Runabout
It’s a beautiful car but I’ve got a question. The bolts/screws that attach the windshield hinges and the windshield to dash clamps appear bright as if they are nickel plated or bare steel. I always thought those were brass plated?

Re: Rivet or Bolt
I made some of those threaded rivets for a headlight door, also reduced the size of carriage bolt heads on 4 bolts that hold the coil box on my 21. Easy to do with a drill and a bench grinder or a lathe if you have one.

Re: Front cross member "heavier steel", thickness?
These measurements are slightly larger because of rust and paint and/or inaccuracy of the cheap calipers, but they are consistent with what R.V. stated. One is an 09-13 frame and the other is 1921-25.

Re: Speedometer
I’ve got that speedometer to go in a speedster with an Overland body, fits perfectly with existing holes. If you took that bracket off the back and turned it 180 degrees it should fit. You might have to drill more holes to attach the bracket back to the speedometer.

I turned mine around from how they are in this picture because I read on here the oiler facing the rear is supposed to be on top so you don’t have to climb under the car to put oil in.
Maybe a close up of a factory photo would show how the later style were installed originally.

Re: trying Evaporust for the first time
I’ve used Evaporust as well as other harsh chemicals and found out on another forum that citric acid works just as well and is relatively inexpensive to mix up a 5 gallon bucket full. It comes in powdered form and you get it by the Mason jars in the canning department. I partially dipped this intake...
