Re: Are there still good tire deals going on?

Norm, You do not live that far from Lucas (Long Beach) and it will not cost much in gas. Take the Wife for a Tire shopping trip....smile. I like their Wards Riverside thread style and am very happy with their tires. I run Lucas tires on several of my cars and like their products. Their tires do not ...

Re: Ford Faithful for an outside oil line?

I consider the Ford Faithful oiler with a 3/8" line going to the front side of the pan a better choice compared to a mag. post oiler. However, an outside oil line (1/2") going from the hogs head to the pan beats them all except for an oil pump. Approx. 20 yrs. ago, I drilled/tapped a 3/4" NPT thread...

If you already have a model T......then keep the model A and enjoy them both. I have both and enjoy each one in a different way.

Drove our 13 model T touring with a large Flag in the Vet Day Parade in Fallbrook, Ca. It was wonderful seeing the excitement the people had that lined the street. The horn got a good work out!

Re: High compression head ????

I have been running a Giant power head on my 13 touring and have been happy on performance. Do not consider it a High compression head.....just a head with better design. The head is cast iron, larger coolant capacity and does not eat out like aluminum heads. Better squish design compared to stock h...

This is an interesting subject for me.....I have been running a 280 Stipe cam with hard valve seats, Chev. exhaust valves, retainers, T valve springs and adjustable tappets. Set the valve tight according to Stipe recommendations. The engine is a 13 and has been running with no further adjustments in...

A good friend of mine in the San Diego area did this several years ago. It was an experiment brought on by wanting to see if fuel injection could be incorporated in a T engine. He quickly found out sharing ports did not work in less you added a plate to separate the ports. He cut up/welded a stock c...

Re: Dupont Acrylic Lacquer paint 99L

I don't think Lacquer paint is still available in Calif. Even "Gun Wash" is no longer Lacquer. This is all because of EPA rules in Calif. They would like us to use water base paints which I have used but do not like. You may be able to order or buy Lacquer paint/thinner by mail or go out of state to...

I have been using 90-140 synthetic gear oil from McMaster Carr. Been using it for over 20 yrs. and very happy with the results....it does not attack the Bronze thrust washer. The gear oil stay's clear and does not turn a Bronze color like I have found using conventional gear oil.
