smoke question

Hello, I'm looking at a 1925 Roadster. It has smoke coming from a hole down inbetween the cylinders, to the left of the manifold, which the owner says is normal and is a crankcase breather hole. Is this normal?

Advice on starter problem please.

I have a 23 roadster car. I have a problem that the starter doesn't turn the engine over. The engine is free to turn by hand. I have had the motor refurbished and it functions well off the car. I need a bit of guidance please. There is a toothed gear wheel for the starter to engage with once it star...

Wiring diagram for indicators. Advice please.

Hello,

I was fortunate enough to buy a tourer in an executors sale. Down to the last job now. There is an aftermarket signalling kit. I'll try to upload pictures. Help with what to connect where would be helpful please.[image]https://photos.app.goo.gl/m6cHkTf22CBJZb1s5[/image]

Anderson style timer question

Thanks to those who responded at the w/e when I was trying to identify the source of a misfire. I've now found the cause. The flapper on my Anderson style timer wasn't flapping! So, just out of contact on two cylinders. It's free now - if I slacken off the retaining nut a smidge, I guess it had tigh...

Advice on timer/generator please.

I started work this morning on an issue with my reasonably new Lang's Anderson flapper type timer, which was only sparking on two cylinders. Took the cover out and cleaned it. I then had no spark at all! I checked the voltage at the little flapper itself, with the cover off and it isn't showing 6v, ...

Re: castle nuts between cylinders 2&3

Thank you again. I'm now ready to tighten these nuts up. It turns out both are very loose, probably because they weren't fixed with a pin. As I tend to be a bit of a klutz, I thought I'd better just check about possible overtightening on the main bearing! Any advice there would be welcome.

castle nuts between cylinders 2&3

Hello, I'd appreciate a bit of advice please. There are two castle nuts in the space between cylinders 2 & 3. Before stripping down to get at them, I thought I'd ask your help!. It looks like the one on the inlet manifold side is leaking oil. I can't see a split pin in place, but I presume there sho...

Paint for hood.

Advice would be appreciated please. I have a 1922 Tourer, which isn't currently roadworthy. To save time while I play with it, I took the hood to a paint shop to be stripped and painted. The guy duly shot-peened the metal and then realised he didn't have a colour match. I took a headlight roundel do...

How do I use Radamax plug tester.

Hi Folks,

I bought a job lot of tools this week. Anyone know how to use a Radamax plug and spark tester? The two prongs lead to a filament inside that presumably glows when touched to HT lead and earth. View through the little window. Haven't tried that yet! But how does it test a plug?

What is the difference between Town Car and Landaullette?

Hello Folks - I've taken an interest in what was described as a RHD Model T Landaullette. It is a 1915 model and is a Canadian built car, but it went to Australia. So, it may not quite conform to the US built spec if it was custom built there. I wouldn't like to spend the next ten years describing i...
