I have a 1927 fordor sedan can anyone tell me how long the channels with the hooks should be in the front and rear doors also what about the rear windows in the body. what width and height have you found i believe they are 5/8 but not absolutely sure.

Yes it is I will need to mike it to see just how bad it is was thinking about salvage sleeve using a permanent locktite product to keep it tight.

I suggest a 1/2" open end wrench in your tool box and forget about a switch. We dont have battery cut off switches on modern cars but they do have fuses, thats what I would recommend to anyone wanting to improve electrical safety to thier model T, add a fuse, ditch the cut off switch. Engine building considerations

My 1927 engine will not use the magneto but bosch front plate distributor any reason not to remove the magnets and lighten the flywheel the crank has dunn counterbalances.

On the clutch which is better the watts clutch or the gm turbo discs. The transmission will have a floating trans shaft.

The one on the left is longer the correct one measures just a little over 4 inches from the bottom of the inside(flat part) to the end of the bolt.

Sorry Keith they are the two little retainer clamps that sit on top of the lower windshield frame and retain the glass vendors have them but only for open cars.

Well I must say all of the responses posted by you guys have been most helpful so i can experiment some I have a professionall rebuilt Zenith from Dave renner as well as a new tillotson X I would probably go with the tillotson because I like to adjust things according to how the engine feels running...

Lawrence that is a great idea folks do not seem to understand in a fordor there is no moving the seat, I have driven a tudor and the seat does set farther back.

It is not possible to move the seat at all, i also understand this would lower the steering wheel I am not large so that is not a problem I just thought a little more room might be nice to have.

27 steering column question

Since I have a 27 fordor and they can be a little tight i know a guy could use a fat man steering wheel(i do not want one) i was wondering about shortening the steering column up say couple of inches knowing i would have probably have to machine the steering arm end of the shaft some fore the bushin...

I pulled a brassworks out of my 30 tudor sedan and replaced it with a bergs, brassworks is just not always right sad they used to be much better. The bergs hands down is a much better radiator.

I am looking for the right and left side brakets that the windshield swing arms attach too they have three holes in them to mount to the door post looking for nice one not rust pitted and pocked.

On my 27 fordor the spare tire carrier wheel mounting plate is bent in slightly at the bottom I am thinking it should be flat.

Jay thanks that is what i was wondering so the front touring mat is slightly larger in a touring than the closed car. Any ideas on a rear mat, I could use a a model a tudor rear mat as they are much larger. Afordor is a tighter fit up front than a tudor so i am thinking a touring mat will work out j...

I have a 1927 t fordor i know carper is correct but this car will be a driver so I would rather use mats I know they show none are made and was wondering if anyone had any ideas that could possibly work.

i am going to use a piece of square tubing over the axle 3/16 to 1/4 inch wall i will also put bolts in along the length to tighten up the axle and use a hub with a shim in it and will be able to cage the whole assembly for pressing on the new gear and incorporate many of the suggestions folks here ...

Scott i do not see why that timer is not doing the job, one would think the roller is bouncing but why not 1 and 2 does not make sense could be a combination of issues I already suggested timer wiring on another forum as have you. Art will persevere and get this.

Wayne I really like that color combo, Dan i hear ya I already have the wheels painted red and what you say is exactly how many were for sure, me i just think they clash could pc them maroon also but i am leaning towards the straw color. I do appreciate all of the inputs.

I think the straw color would look nice with blackwalls and the maroon color thanks for the reply.
