Re: clearance transmission clutch slide collar

Hi Allan,
thanks for the answer.
Are you sure that this shaft is surface hardened? I didn't feel anything there. The transmission clutch slide collar is hardened.
It would make sense if the shaft was hardened. But I didn't feel any of it.

Thanks

secure 4th Main

Hi,
i have a question about the 4th Main.
When you pull the Motor or the Rear end, you have to unscrew the 4th Main. What is your recommendation so the 4th Main does not shift downwards?

Re: Generator over charging?

Hi James,
yes, Scott is correct. You have to find the neutral position on your brushplate.

Re: Piston pin clamp

Yes, that will work. But 25 ft-lb is also ok. Do not overtighten.
At my actual project i do the same.

When you tighten that screw. DO NOT clamp the rod in the Vice. Use a Pin who fits in the Piston Pin.

Question on Piston Ring Gap

Hello together, I use Aluminium Pistons in my 26 Roadster with .040 oversize and the Grand Rings for Aluminium Pistons .040. The standard Gap for the rings is 0.004-inch per inch of diameter of the cylinder. That means 0.004 x 3.790 = 0,015. My question is now, what is the maximum accept gap for thi...
